Newer vehicles include all sorts of technological marvels and systems designed to improve your driving experience. While finding information on how these systems work can be difficult, most of them are actually quite simple. Read our guide below to help you get your money’s worth from your Mitsubishi’s connectivity features.
What are in-car connectivity features?
While exact functions from model to model, you can expect Bluetooth syncing technology on all new Mitsubishi vehicles, with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ available on most current, brand-new Mitsubishi vehicles at Don Robinson Mitsubishi.
Bluetooth syncing is the most basic connectivity feature in your car, allowing you to link your Mitsubishi’s sound system to your phone so you can use your vehicle to make calls and play music from your phone.
Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ offer additional integration if you have an Apple iPhone or an Android-based smartphone. With Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™, you can use voice controls or your Mitsubishi’s touch screen to access your music and audiobooks, respond to phone calls and other messages, and use phone-based apps on the car’s touch screen.
How do I use Bluetooth?
To use Bluetooth syncing, you must enable Bluetooth on both your Mitsubishi and on your smartphone.
While the specifics may vary between infotainment systems, we’ll use the Outlander PHEV’s system as an example. On the Outlander’s infotainment console, you should press the “Phone” button and follow the “Device Manager” and “Register Phone” prompts. After that, turn on Bluetooth in your smartphone’s settings menu and select your vehicle. Your phone and vehicle will pair and allow you to control your calls and music from your steering wheel and infotainment system.
How do I use Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™?
Getting started with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ is simpler. Plug one end of a USB cable into your smartphone, and plug the other end into the USB receptacle near your vehicle’s infotainment system.
From here, you can use your infotainment system’s screen and knobs to control compatible apps on your smartphone, or use the voice control button on your steering wheel to do the same without taking your eyes off the road.
