Driving in the snow can be challenging—but it doesn’t have to leave you feeling stressed or scared. Follow the tips below for a safe snow driving experience, and consider getting new, snow-safe tires for your SUV from Don Robinson Mitsubishi’s tire store for improved safety in the winter.

Snow Driving Safety Tips
  1. Slow down—and not just your speeds. Make your actual accelerations and decelerations slower in order to maintain traction on slippery roadways.
  2. Increase following distance. Allow more space between you and the car ahead of you than you would on a day with clear skies.
  3. Avoid hills. Even if you drive a truck or an SUV, hills can prove challenging. If you can alter your route to avoid a snowy hill, do so.
  4. Check your brakes and tires. If you know snow is coming, make sure your brakes and tires are in working order. If they are not, do not drive. Wait until streets are clear, and bring your vehicle to Don Robinson Mitsubishi’s service department for brake repair or tire maintenance before the next storm. Should your tires need to be replaced, our tire store offers new tires for Mitsubishi SUVs and cars.
  5. When in doubt, stay home. If you’re able to work from home or put off your errands, don’t tempt fate when the roads are bad.
