2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Preview | St. Cloud, MN

2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport: Preview

The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has been around for a decade, the automaker is celebrating by giving this iconic crossover a complete overhaul. Mitsubishi is giving the 2020 Outlander Sport some major styling changes and revamped engineering, though it’s still part of the same generation of models released last year. You can drive home the revamped Outlander Sport in late 2019.

Design Changes
One of the biggest changes coming to the 2020 Outlander Sport is the new exterior design. Mitsubishi is adding slimmer headlights, wide-set fog lamps, integrated turn signals, and a bold skid plate. There’s also an entirely new roofline and silhouette, while the front fascia shares many of its design cues with the new Eclipse Cross. In other words, this is one subcompact SUV that looks completely refreshed for the new model year.

Under the Hood
While Mitsubishi has kept the mechanical details under wraps, we do know that the model is likely to have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 148 horsepower and an optional 2.4-liter engine with 168 horsepower. However, the brand also introduced a new 1.5-liter engine, boasting 152 horsepower, on the Eclipse, which could make its way to the Outlander Sport with an accompanying Continuously Variable Transmission.

Interior Styling and Tech
Other updates for the 2020 model year include a new look on the inside. There’s more refined detailing throughout the cabin to elevate the driving experience, including more black trim and chrome. The 2020 Outlander Sport offers new paint colors, as well. Perhaps best of all, there’s a new 8.0-inch touchscreen system to make the infotainment even more user friendly and accessible. You’ll also be able to use innovative safety systems on the larger touchscreen, including the available automated emergency braking system. These are just a few of the many innovative features Mitsubishi is adding to help the Outlander Sport celebrate its 10-year anniversary.
