The 2019 MitsubishiOutlander’s safety is a quality you can trust, as it received the IIHS Top Safety Pick accolade. That makes this sixth year in a row that the Outlander has been awarded an IIHS top safety rating.
To earn the rating, the Outlander achieved the top “good” rating in all crash tests including the challenging small overlap front tests. It also earned a “superior” rating for its available front crash prevention technology and an “acceptable” rating for its available headlights.
Mark Chaffin, Chief Operating Officer for Mitsubishi Motors North America, was proud of the achievement. “As an engineering-focused company, we build safety, quality and dependability into every one of our vehicles,” he said.
Some of the 2019 Outlander’s standard safety features include a rearview camera, traction and stability control, advanced airbags, and antilock brakes. All Outlander’s are designed with Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution construction, which uses key crumple zones that absorb and direct crash forces away from the cabin so passengers will remain safe.
The safest driving comes from preventing accidents or collisions in the first place, which is why the Outlander is available with a wide range of advanced driver assist systems. The available SEL Touring package comes with Automatic High Beam control, Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a multi-view camera system.
These systems like the Forward Collision Mitigation can detect a potential accident using its radar and camera technology. It will warn the driver and automatically apply the brakes to reduce the impact or potentially avoid the collision altogether.
Mitsubishi is dedicated your safety and wellbeing, which is why the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick and continued to do so for the past six years. If you’d like to see the Outlanders safety systems for yourself, visit us at Don Robinson Mitsubishi and schedule a test drive.
